A Trend

There seems to be a trend that strikes me as kinda funny. First I need to explain that my husband, Amar, is Aryan (Chetri caste) ... in "loose" terms he looks East Indian, but he isn't. He's Nepali. As I have posted earlier, I am a typical-looking Newfoundlander. (Our picture is in an earlier post.) Anyway, I've been asked quite often by Chinese ladies if the two boys are brothers and if they are both ours. Of course I say yes. They smile, and say that the boys don't look like me... they look like their father... "Amar," I say, "The Chinese think you're Chinese." "That's possible," he replies, "A lot of minorities here, you know."

I smile to myself... Geez, they're making us feel right at home...
